Choosing the right equipment
The right ski length depends on your height. As a rough guide:beginners — 15–20 cm shorter than your height (about chin height); intermediate skiers — 10–15 cm shorter (between chin and nose height); experts — your height to 5 cm taller.
A ski’s turn radius indicates how readily it turns and helps distinguish the types: 10–13 m for short turns and slalom skis, 12–16 m for medium turns and all-round skis, and 16–20 m for long turns and giant slalom skis.
