More comfortable skiing.
No two feet are the same. Bootfitting helps adapt your ski boots to your feet and fine-tune their settings for a secure fit without unnecessary pressure.
When the right boots need a little fine-tuning
Do you have prominent ankle bones, a wider forefoot or a particular spot where your boots press? Individual adjustment and heat moulding can help distribute pressure and improve the fit.
The right model and size always come first. We’ll assess what your boots need when you try them on with us. If they already fit well, there’s no reason to heat them automatically.
When helping you choose boots in the shop, we use a specialist measuring device to check foot length and width, then assess your arch type from a footprint. This helps us recommend suitable boots and insoles.
Memory Fit and Mimic: which parts are moulded?
The outer shell
Atomic’s technology allows us to heat-mould the shell and cuff: the rigid outer boot and its upper section around the lower leg. Once heated, the boot is shaped around your foot and then left to cool.
We adjust the shell when needed and with your agreement. Shell moulding is not an automatic part of every appointment.
The liner
Once heated, the mouldable liner adapts primarily around the heel, ankles and its other mouldable areas. The aim is closer contact with the foot and more evenly distributed pressure.
The exact process depends on the liner construction and your boot model.
This service is for Atomic ski boots equipped with Memory Fit and Mimic technologies. Tell us the model when booking so we can check which adjustments it supports. This is heat moulding, rather than foam injection into the liner.
What happens at your appointment
Shell setup and adjustment
We’ll discuss where the boots press and check how your feet sit inside them. First, we adjust the shell and the features available on your model, including the buckles and cuff position. Correct setup alone can make a noticeable difference to how the boots feel.
Memory Fit shell moulding
We’ll decide together whether to heat-mould the shell, based on the fit and your preferences. If we use Memory Fit, we heat the shell, shape it around your foot and allow it to cool. Moulding is not necessary at every appointment.
Liner moulding and final checks
We heat and mould the Mimic liner to your foot. Finally, we check heel hold, pressure points and closure, then explain how to use your boots correctly.
Included with selected boots from our shop
With selected Atomic boots featuring Memory Fit and Mimic bought from us, you receive one moulding session for the pair, including shell setup and adjustment, at no extra charge.
This covers one visit to mould one pair. Further moulding sessions on later visits are not included. Where available, the service is listed as an included gift on the product page.
Preparing for your appointment

Bring both ski boots, the ski socks you normally wear and any insoles you use. Moulding takes place in our shop, with the boots on your feet.

Frequently asked questions
How many times can a liner be heat-moulded?
A Mimic liner can be remoulded as needed, typically 3–4 times. Repeated heating can accelerate foam wear, so we check its condition before another session.
Do new boots need moulding straight after purchase?
Not every pair does. If your boots fit well without significant pressure points, you can try them on the slopes first. If they remain comfortable while skiing, moulding won’t be needed. If pressure points appear after a day or a few days, you’ll be able to tell us more precisely what needs attention. For pronounced pressure points or a distinctive foot shape, moulding may be appropriate before your first day out: you don’t need to ski through severe pain. Together, we’ll assess whether boot adjustment, liner moulding or shell moulding is the right approach.
Can you adjust boots bought elsewhere?
Yes, provided they are a suitable Atomic model with the technologies described above. Tell us the model before visiting. A charge applies in this case.
Will moulding fix boots that are too big or the wrong shape?
Moulding cannot replace the right size and shape. That’s why we always begin by having you try on the boots and checking the fit before deciding how to proceed.
