The EDGE 3.9 suits leisure riders exploring cycle paths, country lanes and forest tracks. It combines an aluminium frame, front suspension and hydraulic brakes with a traditional triple-chainring drivetrain. It is a practical first mountain bike or an all-round option for outings that mix tarmac with easier off-road sections.
29-inch wheels for longer outings
Large wheels roll over smaller obstacles and help maintain a steady pace. Mitas Ocelot tyres have tread suited to surfaced and unsurfaced tracks. With its rigid rear end, the bike is best suited to leisure routes and easier terrain.
Suspension with lockout
The coil-sprung SR Suntour XCT30 fork provides 100 mm of travel to absorb impacts from stones and roots. Lock it out on smooth surfaces to reduce movement while pedalling. There is no air pressure to set.
Three chainrings to suit your pace
The 42/34/24-tooth chainrings and a 12–32-tooth eight-speed cassette give you 24 gear combinations. The small chainring helps on climbs, the middle one suits everyday riding and the large one covers faster sections. A Shimano Acera rear derailleur works with a Tourney front derailleur.
Hydraulic braking on the way down
Shimano MT200 brakes allow you to control braking force without a heavy pull on the lever. Both rotors measure 160 mm. The 720 mm handlebar gives you useful support when steering along forest tracks.
