Continental Dubnital Race Rapid Kevlar XC Tyre, 29 x 2,20

The Continental Dubnital Race Rapid Kevlar is a race-ready XC tyre for riders who refuse to choose between speed and control. A low-rolling-resistance centre tread delivers sharp acceleration and consistent pace, while reinforced side knobs add confidence through corners and across cambers. The result is a tyre that performs equally well on a race circuit or a full-day trail ride.

The 330 TPI casing is the lightest construction in Continental's MTB range. A three-layer fabric of the same type used on Conti's road tyres helps maximise surface contact and delivers a comfortable, responsive feel underwheel. The sidewalls and crown are suitably reinforced for tubeless use and reasonable puncture resistance, without adding unnecessary weight. A folding Kevlar (aramid) bead makes storage straightforward and contributes to the low overall weight of 590 g.

The Rapid Compound draws on Continental's road and gravel racing formulas, with the emphasis firmly on low rolling resistance and quick response under power. On dry to lightly damp surfaces it retains enough grip to feel composed rather than nervous, even on hard terrain. This is a deliberate choice for the conditions the Dubnital is designed for — not a catch-all compromise.

A new centre tread with finer siping helps improve braking without compromising roll speed. Reinforced side knobs with greater support give predictable, consistent behaviour through corners and across cambers — the Dubnital holds its line more reliably than the previous-generation Race King.

Rapid Compound is not intended for wet or muddy conditions — in those circumstances, opt for the Grip Compound variant instead. This tyre is compatible with hookless rims in accordance with the manufacturer's specification; always verify your rim manufacturer's recommendations before fitting.
