GPS watch Garmin Fenix 9 51 mm, black

Durability without excess weight

The fibre-reinforced polymer case has a titanium rear cover and a DLC-coated titanium bezel. A sapphire crystal protects the display against scratches. The watch weighs 91 g with its strap. Waterproof metal buttons complement the touchscreen for use during sport and in the water.

A display that is easy to read

The colour AMOLED clearly displays maps and training data. A larger text option and both touch and button controls let you choose how to operate the watch. Red Shift changes the display colours for use after dark.

Maps that guide you further

TopoActive maps, multi-band GPS and SatIQ help with navigation and more efficient positioning. NextFork shows the distance to the next junction, while ClimbPro outlines climbs on your planned course. Dynamic round-trip routing suggests a route for your chosen distance and adjusts it if you go off course. Ski and golf maps are also available.

Training with a clearer plan

More than 100 activity profiles cover running, cycling, swimming, triathlon, strength training and winter sports. Training Readiness brings together sleep, recovery and recent load; Training Status shows longer-term progress. Garmin Coach and suggested workouts help build your plan, PacePro supports race pacing, and stamina metrics help track endurance.

Recovery in a wider context

Heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep, stress and Body Battery help you understand the balance between effort and rest. Morning and evening reports summarise key information, while Sleep Coach supports your routine. The Garmin ECG app is also supported for users aged 22 and over; availability depends on your country and current software.

Useful features for everyday life

The microphone and speaker let you make wrist-based calls when paired with a compatible phone. Listen to music through connected headphones without your phone; selected services require a subscription. Garmin Pay works with supported banks and cards. Garmin Epic brings multi-day activities, photos and fitness data together into a shared story.

Light and tools for the outdoors

The built-in LED flashlight with adjustable brightness is useful after dark. An altimeter, barometer and compass help you monitor terrain and conditions. Alongside swimming, the watch supports recreational scuba diving and freediving to 40 m.

Battery life by mode

Battery life varies with display settings, navigation, sensors and usage.
